FLORAL DESIGNER

About this Position: 

We’re a small but mighty team and all roles are essential and overlap in one way or another. We often require “all hands on deck” during our busy seasonal times. Floral Designers at FIELD are responsible for creating all arrangements and hand-tied bouquets. They are responsible for reviewing daily delivery and pickup orders, keeping our fresh sheet updated, and working with farmers and our wholesale partners to ensure we have the most beautiful and freshest local blooms, when available. You’re creative, energetic, conscientious, and hard working.

What You’ll Do::

  • Customer Service

    • Greet and assist customers that visit or call the shop

    • Answer questions, make suggestions about gifts, cards, and flowers

    • Use the store POS system to ring up retail items

    • Work closely with customers to discuss design aesthetics including color, structure, sizing, pricing

    • Use floral ordering system to create flower orders for pick up and delivery

  • Flowers/Deliveries

    • Are experts in identification of fresh flowers and stems

    • Process flowers/stems, general flower care

    • Create hand-tied bouquets for customers on demand as well as for delivery orders

    • Prep vessels/Wash and sanitize buckets

    • Create packaging for hand-tied bouquets and vase arrangements

    • Handwrite cards

    • Take pictures of flower designs and upload into floral ordering system

    • Organize and route deliveries via floral ordering system

    • Create new designs and online offerings

  • Shop Duties

    • Open & Close the shop, complete daily task lists

    • Merchandise products/displays

    • General cleaning

Requirements:

  • Must be able to Monday through Friday, weekends a plus

  • Must be available to work Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day

  • Flexible schedule to assist with other holidays and local events

  • Can lift boxes, buckets, and other items up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience in a dynamic environment which requires multi-tasking

  • Attention to detail and proven excellence in customer service a must

  • Retail or applicable work experience

  • Experience working with Apple products including iMac and iPad

  • Experience with various social media channels

  • Able to work independently, with minimal direction

  • Comfortable answering and returning phone calls

  • Discrete and compassionate
